On Friday, June 9, 2017, the Legal Archives Society of Alberta was pleased to receive a visit from the Hon. Kathleen Ganley, Minister of Justice and Solicitor General, who presented LASA with a grant from the Alberta Community Initiatives Program.
The funding will be used to capture themes in Alberta’s legal heritage, including Aboriginal Justice and women in the law, with artwork commissioned by the Legal Archives. The finished artwork will be permanently displayed in Alberta courthouses.
LASA is grateful for the continued support from the Government of Alberta in our efforts to preserve and promote our province’s legal history.
